Qualifying Round

Format:           18 holes Individual Net (Qualifying Round) – 100% of course handicap – top 64 players will qualify for the match play rounds.  Players that qualify for the match play round will be flighted according to their course handicap. 

Singles Match Play for 18 holes (Match Play rounds) – Players will receive 85% of their course handicap and the higher handicap player will receive the difference.  The qualifying round is 7/20.  All subsequent rounds will be scheduled/played at the participant’s convenience and must be played within the allotted time frame for that round with the player’s current handicap at time of match.  If matches cannot be completed within the allotted time frame, a standing afternoon tee time will be in place on the final day of the time frame.  If a player cannot play at that time, the other player will advance.  If both players cannot play at that time, the match will be decided by coin toss.  Play will be from the blue tees; players may elect to play from the white tees with the appropriate handicap adjustment.  In order to be eligible to play from the white tees, a player’s age plus their current handicap must be equal to or greater than 80.  If a player elects to play from the white tees, he must declare prior to registration ending, and once the tee is established, a player must play all subsequent rounds from that tee.  Players will be divided into flights according to handicaps.  Flight winners will then compete in the finals bracket to determine an overall winner. 

Rules:              USGA rules along with Lantana MGA local rules will govern play.  The MGA Tournament Committee will have final say on all scheduling conflicts and/or issues. 

Entry:              Entry Fee is $85.  Entry includes cart fee, and lunch for qualifying round, and awards for match play round.  (Shop credit will be awarded to the Elite Eight).  Cart fees for subsequent rounds will be incurred accordingly.

Round completion dates may be adjusted by the committee depending on # of teams participating, weather, and any other unforeseen circumstances.
